Chad is from Louisiana and started working with the government in 1996 at Ft. Polk Louisiana. Chad then worked at Ft. Jackson South Carolina then Wurzburg Germany. For the past 13 years he’s been the Sports Specialist and Facility Manager for Indian Field Fitness Center. Chad has been a youth AAU Basketball Coach for 20 years. When he’s not enjoying work, he enjoys fishing and traveling.
Gabriela moved to Pennsylvania two years ago with her husband and three daughters. She is very excited to have joined the FMWR family and is looking forward to serving the Carlisle Barracks military community and their family. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her families, outdoor activities, arts and crafts and playing with her dog.
Joe is a new member to the MWR Team. He is currently the Administrative Assistant at the MWR Office located in Building 46. Joe’s time is taken up by helping his wife, Sherri, with their three children activities. He is an Active Registered Adult with the Young Marines for his oldest, Cheyanne. Joe also volunteers his time as a Webelos Scout leader for his son, Anthony. He still finds time to actively assist his youngest daughter, Mya, with her interests in sports such as ice hockey. Be sure to say hi to Joe when you stop by the MWR office.
Mike has been in the bowling business for 26 years, and the manager at the Bowling Center for 7 years. In his free time he enjoys rooting for all of the Philadelphia sports teams, bowling competitively, and watching his daughters Chloey and Joscelynn cheer at both football games and cheer competitions. Please be sure to check out the Bowling Center’s party packages for your holiday party, and look for some great specials and short season bowling leagues early in the New Year!
Being a native of Harrisburg, Dorian attended Indiana University of PA Academy of Culinary Arts obtaining a Associate’s Degree. After completing her internship with a well-known local caterer, she continued back to IUP to major in Dietetics. While studying, she learned her passion for catering was greater. She’s ecstatic to bring her love for entertaining and party planning to the LVCC. She can’t wait to share her passion and positive energy with the AWC.
Shawnee is happily married to her husband, Chris. Together they have two children and live in Harrisburg, PA. She recently returned to work at the Leisure Travel Office at Fort Indiantown Gap. She enjoys having the opportunity to work with and meet nice and interesting people. If you need assistance with your travel needs, stop by the Leisure Travel office at Fort Indiantown Gap and see Shawnee.
Tiffany started three years ago as the Administrative Support Assistant at the Moore Child Development Center. Recently, she took the position of Parent Central Services Administrative Support Assistant. Tiffany now handles all of the incoming children’s registrations. In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her 4 year old son, DJ, and their horses on the farm.
Matthew was hired in May as an Assistant Manager/Golf Professional at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course. He will be replacing Terry Myers as the Head Golf Professional when Terry retires in March 2017. He was previously the Director of Golf at Pilgrim’s Oak Golf Course in Peach Bottom, PA and is a member of the PGA of America. Matthew is looking forward to working with the members of the course, the students and the staff of the War College.
Lauren has been an employee of Tieman Child Development Center for four years. She is currently working as a preschool teacher and enjoys watching children grow and learn. Her mother’s twenty eight years dedicated to child care inspired her to work with young children and further her career in childcare by obtaining her Child Development Associate (CDA).
Stephanie Fisher is the new Caterer/Event Coordinator for Fort Indiantown Gap. She has been and Event Coordinator and cake decorator for 15 years. “No two events are ever the same.” My goal is to always create a one of a kind event by blending together the perfect mix of details. From menus to venues I always strive for every detail to reflect my clients individual style.
Cynthia has been with Carlisle Barracks for almost 21 years and has 30 years of child care experience. Knowing she wanted to work with children, she started working in Germany in 1985 as a flex employee. What initially drew her to child care was her love for working with children. “It is one of the most rewarding and fun jobs. You have a chance to help children develop as well as educate them.”
Johnny is excited for the opportunity to apply his skills and knowledge of finance with the MWR team. The latest edition to the Financial Management Division, Johnny started at Carlisle Barracks working in sports and jumped at the opportunity to work in finance. “I really love it here. My co-workers are like family, we have each other’s’ back. Everyone is very supportive”.
Robert started out as a dishwasher in the LVCC eleven years ago and then jumped into Child, Youth and School Services after High School. He came back every year to work at the summer camps during breaks from college. He is currently the Child Development Center Facility Director at the Letterkenny Army Depot. They care for infants and children ages 8 weeks to five years old. He finds that it is a pleasure to work with military families!
Emily comes to us via Hershey Entertainment and Resorts where for the past seven years she worked in special events and banquets. The newest addition to the Army Catering Team at the Letort View Community Center, she is excited for the opportunity to share her experience, grow and further her career with Family and MWR!
Randy is the new Sponsorship Coordinator at Family and MWR. He lives in Carlisle with his wife Heather, and two wonderful boys, Collin and Shafer. He has two dogs, a german shepard, and a half chocolate lab - half American bulldog. He’s originally from Williamsport, PA and a USAF veteran. He enjoys golf, basketball, and pretty much any sporting activity. He’s extremely excited to be here and looks forward to helping where he’s needed.

Derek Dickerson is an intern with MWR Marketing. He will be graduating from McCann School of Business and Technology in October, with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and Management. As a Soldier serving 9 years in the U.S. Army, as an Infantryman and with 3 combat tours, he is looking forward to continuing his service to the military community in the next chapter of his life.
Keith was born in Missouri and pursued a career in the United States Air Force to see the world, and he did just that. He retired after 21 years of service. He has 5 children and 7 grandchildren with one more on the way, and loves visiting and spending time with all of them. Since they are spread out in three different states, he decided to move to Pennsylvania to be in a more central location. Him and his girlfriend love to spoil the grandchildren and then give them back to their parents. In Keith’s grandchildren’s eyes, Kitty and Keith are magical figures that can do no wrong; he said there is no better feeling in the world.
Judy comes to us with an extensive background in aquatics. She was the Aquatic Director at the Carlisle Family YMCA for 19 years and is now the aquatic aide at Big Spring High School. Judy is excited to be working at the Carlisle Barracks “Splash Zone” swimming pool this summer to provide quality swim lessons and a safe aquatic environment.
Tina has been married for over 25 years to Christopher who served with the Air Force for 24 years. They have three children: Hayle, Nathan, and Jordan. She started working at the CDC at Elmendorf AFB, AK. For the last 17 years she found her calling in Child and Youth Program Services. She looks forward to this great opportunity and hopes to bring some great ideas from her years of experience and gain even more experience from the great staff, children, and programs here at Carlisle Barracks.
Lauren, a self-proclaimed “Army Brat” all her life, loves being associated with the military. For the past 8 years she has served the military community, starting as a cashier at the Defense Commissary Agency in high school, serving her Internship and working part time for Family and MWR Marketing during college. Now, recently engaged and a graduate with a marketing degree from Indiana University of PA , she is back with MWR as a management assistant and couldn’t be more happy.
Adam Morales is the Assistant Manager at Fort Indiantown Gap Community Club. Adam comes to MWR with 20+ years of food service experience. He started his professional career in the Marine Corps as a cook and health inspector. With a degree in culinary arts and business from YTI he has managed several popular casual dinning restaurants.
Art Director and Webmaster,
George is Art Director for First Choice and Webmaster for carlislemwr.com, gapmwr.com, carlisleoktoberfest.com, and 1stchoicemag.com. He’s also designed the look for Oktoberfest as well as the logos for Arrowheads and Boxcar Coffee Shop. In his spare time, George creates tabletop games. His first game, District-Z, was successfully funded on Kickstarter.
Skills Development Center Manager
Serving nearly 10 years in the Marine Corps as a Combat Correspondent, Curt joins us from his most recent assignment at Recruiting Station Harrisburg. Curt enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking and biking. He looks forward to offering classes in digital photography, scrapbooking and painting in the near future.
Becky Myers - Director, Army Community Service
With over 23 years experience working in Army Community Service, Becky has had a number of interesting assignments, her favorite being Heidelberg, Germany. In her spare time Becky enjoys the outdoors, cooking and playing with her pets. In the future she would like to get involved with training working dogs. After 24 years of traveling the country for his career, Scot feels like he’s coming back full circle to Carlisle Barracks. As a youth in Carlisle, he was often on post visiting high school friends. “Working for the Army feels like you are doing something important. Everyone in MWR is here to support Soldiers and their Families and that makes you proud when you come to work.”
Brian Sarjeant, SFC (R)
Fitness Director at Carlisle Barracks
Brian spent the last six years of his military career as a Master Combatives trainer for the Ordinance Corps before joining the fitness staff at Carlisle Barracks. When asked for fitness advice, Brian says “Don’t keep putting it off. If you want to get in shape, START NOW.” In his off time, Brian enjoys watching movies.
Bruce comes to us after spending the last four years as a professional guide in Zion National Park, Utah. He enjoys all types of outdoor activities and is excited to help his customers create awesome outdoor adventures in Central Pennsylvania.
This month Ivy celebrates her one year anniversary in the marketing department at MWR. Ivy’s main responsibilities include marketing Child and Youth Service programs and special events and promotions at Fort Indiantown Gap. In her spare time, Ivy loves spending time with her lab Miley and hiking and skiing.
